Not sure why you would say that. Double covers routinely go for more. A high grade double cover ASM 121 would fetch a pretty penny

Awhile back, I posted a scan of the UK ASM 121, which has a black cover and looks better (IMO) than the yellow one we got, and the forum faithful (can't remember exactly who??) Photoshopped the image of the NA ASM 121 to match the UK one.

I would pay big $$$ for something like that (if it was in high grade). I've been looking at copies of this book for quite sometime and while probably not "rare" the item is unique enough to warrant a lot of collectors attention.

There were probably lots of these at one time, but most kids would just rip them off and use it as a free poster. I knew a guy who had piles of these "extra covers" on his wall and would actually look for them in the newsstand.

The book is a Marvel UK black-and-white reprint of ASM 121, not a UK-distributed original. I like the black background to the cover.

To give some relative perspective. An ASM 119 (Hulk cover) in CGC 9.8 WP just sold on CL in November for $750. A double cover ASM 119 CGC 9.8 WP just sold for $2800 on ebay so that is a multiple premium of 3.7X
