is my MMC #2 the Detroit trolley Copy? You tell me!!

so I was reading up on different pedigree collections and their markings. When I got to the Detroit Trolley collection, looked at scans, and noticed the "L", it made me think about my MMC 2 ! I know the collection did contain Timely titles, but I couldn't find a master list online, so I thought I'd ask the Pro's here in the Forum.

I have seen books marked with the same pencil etched "L" but the book(s) were not considered to be a Detroit Trolley. I would try and get a hold of Marnin and ask him since he found the collection.

Pencil 'L' is a common marking on GA books, sometimes even (erroneously) being confused as a Larson.

Great question. I just bought a raw book - Terrific Comics 3 - from Qualitycomix. It's a Detroit Trolley copy. For that particular book the "L" is less cursive and more print relative to yours. That said, there appears to be considerable variability to the DT markings. For comparison check out Qualitycomix's current DT listings on Ebay. I've copied and pasted the addresses for those marked with an "L." .

I had the Trolley MMC 3 and 4 and they were both coverless. Im not sure how they were stored but maybe that means something.

I used to own your book Chris. I got it in trade from Russ (traded him my 2.5 blue white pgs copy) for this copy and $$. I traded/sold it to Steve. All along that time, I never once heard it mentioned as being from the Detroit Trolley collection. That's not to say that it ISN'T the Trolley, just that none of us knew it to be. I can't remember where Russ got it

That's a really nice copy. Interesting that the white border sometimes appears on the spine and other copies have it on the right edge. Never could figure that out.
