(This is a revised version of the old thread, if you had a request that was not attended to, please post it as a new post in this thread)

 

This is the place to request that scores in the CGC Registry competitive sets be evaluated. You may have slight disagreements with scores, but some of those slight disagreements just boil down to a judgement call. What we're looking for here are clearly incorrect scoring examples. Please provide links, sales histories or any other data that may be helpful in making the appropriate changes to the score.

Hello. I was wondering if you could look at the scores for the teenage mutant ninja turtles volume 1. I feel like the score is way to high for the number 1 first print. There are now 13 9.8 graded They have been coming down on price ebay just sold a number 1 9.8 for 15000. Also the number 3 variant in my option is way harder to come by. There is only 500 copies ever made and only 2 are 9.8 and the score on that is around 900. Please let me know what you think

When you get to Mystery Tales, specifically issue 40, it is selling between 50 to 75x's the guide price. That's the famous Lost TV show issue.

 

That issue should stand out in points I think. Hope you agree!

Sgt. Fury 5 and $.30 and $.35 variants are underscored. :grin: I really think the entire Sgt. Fury and HHC set from issue 20 and up to the final issue 167 should be reevaluated for higher scoring. The later issues are selling from $75 to $150 (and up) for grades 9.4 to 9.6, with only 30 to 90 registry points being awarded for those grades since issue 101. Some 9.8's since issue 101 are selling for $200 plus (and some in the $300 range), with only 80 to 144 registry being points awarded. (thumbs u

Out of curiosity why are Certain sets, of a similar stature scored so differently?

 

For example 9.8 Blue labelled copies of Revival books are only awarded 24 points while the equivalent Bedlam books given 32 points?

 

it's not liked Bedlam is inherently more valuable or collectable than Revival?

I agree with this, the same would go for Strange Tales 28 which sells at many, many multiples of guide. The last sale of a Strange Tales 5.5 was approx. $1000.

 

I would suggest doubling points values for these two standout issues.

Gemma can you add pre-code Strange Tales here also (issues 1-34)? They have received attention previously, but are still perhaps 25% out of line and generally sell for many times guide even in mid-grade. Thanks.

Hello Gemma,

 

This is in regards to the Octagon editions for the Chaos Comics registry sets. The Octagon covers are the most coveted books - they are original sketch covers and only 8 were made per a set - They sell on ebay for as much as 1300.00 dollars which is pretty good for a Modern Era book.

 

I have a handful of them but I've only received a handful of points for them. For example - in my Lady Death Registry set I received only 20 points for a CGC 9.8 Octagon cover (cert#0197351003 ) That's Freaking ridiculous! Please reevaluate those Chaos! Octagon books - they are worth far more than any other variant or Onyx Edition as far as Chaos books go. .Thank you for your support.

I would like the following book looked at:

 

X-Men V2 #1 20th anniversary edition

 

I wanted to wait until this book settled after the initial boom as it is still selling for 250+ in SS and can be as hard to find as the #11 second print. I do not believe it should be given point in the 3 digit area but I think 60 points in blue would be fair given the cost and number on census.
