Wizard World Madison -- February 6-8, 2015

How can you justify paying $1,000 for a single 8-foot table for a 3-day show IN WISCONSIN IN FEBRUARY?

Who is going to this show? Madison is 3+ hours from Chicago, 90 minutes from Milwaukee, and 4+ hours to Minneapolis. Madison is the 86th largest metro area in the country.

Insane.

+1

I'll be there.

Dr. X.....I have no idea of where you are coming!!! (shrug)

Costumed ice fishing tourney during the show!!!!

Mad City is one of the best party towns in USA.

Speaking of February....I think everyone will be on the snowmobile.

Are the unloading docks completely indoors? I can't imagine having to load/unload as a dealer in early feb in the freezing cold in a snowstorm, while knowing that nobody is coming because of the freezing cold and snowstorm.

I hope booths are cheap as EFFFF

For those who are tired of scantily clad cosplayers, I guess this is the Con for you!

Do dealers actually pay the full price for a booth? Are the prices negotiable?

It just seems that $1,000 for an-8-foot table is a bit stiff for a lot of these shows, and I wonder how much/if Wizard will discount.

I've never done one of their shows, but I have heard dealers say that discounts start once you commit for at least three shows. I couldn't say what the discount is or whether it increases if you add more shows, maybe someone can chime in.

I don't know how much you'd have to discount it for me to commit to three comic shows in Madison in February.

Not three Madison shows, three shows on Wizard's schedule.

THree mid-Western Wizard World shows in Feb: Cleveland, Madison, Indy. If you were a Chicago based dealer, how much would you pay to sell at these three shows? Admittedly Cleveland is a collector town, and Indy is a good convention town, but damn ITS COOOOOOLLLLLDDD.

The website is saying that three day passes are sold out and Saturday passes are dwindling. If the weather holds out this might actually work out well for Wizard, but that is still a pretty big "if" two weeks out.
