I was at the Matt Smith/Karen Gillan panel (as was literally half the convention O_o!)

Unfortunately I had my head buried in long boxes 95% of the time, so I don't have any other costume pictures of any worth. I do have art pics of my commissions tho:

I met a guy at the Calgary Red & White show last September. The Red & White is a small 1 day only show but it is 90% comic dealers so it is a must attend for us. My client really liked the art I do and he asked for several pieces to be done.

The finished commissions:

He was very happy with them, so happy he has requested 12 more for delivery at the next Red & White show in September!

Finished pages are 11" x 17". They do look great in person. I fell in love with the ASM 14, I didn't want to sell it once it was done. I am sure that happens to other commissioned artists as well :)

Friday Calgary Expo was somewhat slower for me than Thursday was. The hall was somewhat busy but it seemed more people were walking around, not many comic book buyers. I had more time to walk around and I bought a few books.

Board member Fantastic Thor arrived and gave us some much needed sustenance in the form of mars bars, he also showed us the sketch he obtained:

Thor returned later and said he had found a vendor that was selling some comics that was on the opposite end of the hall. Apparently great deals. The collection was an estate purchase and the seller was blowing them out.

 

Thor produced a large stack of all sorts of books and began flipping through them as Dave and I watched. About 3-4 books down from the top I instantly recognized a book I have been trying to acquire for 2 years and I quickly pulled it from the stack to look at it. Thor gave me a very very good deal, thanks my friend:
