Bob Layton Iron Man & Ant-man

Early issue of Comics Feature Magazine

Thought I would share this with the group both before and after I submit if

to CGC. I have here issue #2 of Comics Feature Magazine from May of 1980.

These old mags were great in that they provided lots of info on upcoming projects

Wooton the comics industry at the time. There were always great interviews

with the most prominent creators of the period, not to mention great cover illustrations! This issue features a fantastic cover of Iron Man and Ant-man illustrated by none other than the great Bob Layton! Personally Bob is my favorite

artist for Iron Man and also does a great job on Ant-man.

Hope you enjoy :)

That is very neat!!! I love magazine submissions! Especially the more obscure ones that no one has submitted before. That copy looks fantastic! Do you plan on geting sigs on it?

I would if I were you. Bob does plenty of shows and so does Grell. In fact Greel will be at Tampa Bay CC in a couple months when I run down there.

Great looking book! Good luck on the submission!

Jeffro, I love submitting unique comics and mags for grading.

Yes I could easily submit my Savage Sword collection or the Creepy,

Eerie, Mad or Vampirella all of which I have either complete collections

with multiples of 5 copies on quite a few issues.

But those books are a dime a dozen as far as I am concerned.

Give me Squa Tront, Foom, Pizazz, RBCC and the other obscure

fanzines from the 70 's and 80 's any day versus the other sic that already

has hundreds of books submitted.

I'm always searching for The OAK's when I can find them.

I can appreciate that. Always cool to have stuff that's off the beaten track.

Still think you should get it signed before submitting. :baiting:

That's a definite on the Layton signnature, I just had Bob sign about 10 books

that are at CGC now waiting to be graded. It's such a long and costly process

and I have set limits for myself.

Cool magazine! I got to meet both Bob Layton and Mike Grell at the Wizard World, Minneapolis convention (May 2-4, 2014). I spoke with Bob Layton for a bit and purchased a nice Iron Man sketch. I had Mike Grell sign a Hulk variant be had drawn. Both gentlemen were very nice to talk to.
