You can have 5 copies of Tales of Terror Annual 1 and have 5 different interiors, all most likely from the first few issues of Crypt, Vault, Haunt, etc. Edited October 22, 2019 by Randall Dowling Grammar Raze and Larryw7
Popular Post Robot Man
Yes, that is the case. I have a COT 17 (#1) in mine. I have heard of a couple that even have the last 2 issues of Crime Patrol as well. If you were basing a price on contents, having first issues would make it worth more and thus increase desirability. I guess in a slab you are just buying a cover anyway. I actually count the interior to having value as well. Nice to have this info on the label... Popular Post Robot Man
Local pickup today. And a Canada copy. You paying attention Jimmers? Guide says low distribution and I think they are spot on on #5. I have bumped into little groups of early MADs over the years and 9 times out of 10 #5 is usually missing. Popular Post OtherEric
Fresh in today, courtesy of @Robot Man. Been looking for this one for quite a while, the cover on this one is completely unforgiving and finding a lower grade copy that didn't present horribly has taken me quite a while. 16 down, 7 to go on the comic book issues of MAD. I believe I saw one at NYCC this month. Might have been this book with a 12K price tag. Don't remember which dealer had it but I believe he said it came from an original owner collection Hutch88, Randall Dowling and KirbyJack

OtherEric
A good day at the Jet City Comic show. We start with a low grade, cover faded, and quite cheap Shock: KirbyJack, Marty Mann and Raze
OtherEric
Next up, a brace of MAD's. This actually gives me 10-31 of MAD complete; only 5 more comic issues to go, all single digits. To be honest, even I might upgrade the 17 if the right copy appears... but it was cheap; and the 16 wasn't bad. KirbyJack
It’s a cool book, but calling it horror may be a stretch. That skeleton is adorable. Along these lines, I just bought an EC that I think is significant, but isn’t recognized generally. I’ll post it here when I get it, and I’ll hope for the forum’s opinions! I suspect a Halloween theme rather than horror. Larryw7 and Marty Mann

I suspect a Halloween theme rather than horror. I think it's quite possible that a Halloween cover could also be a Horror cover. I think trying to identify the first EC horror cover is actually an interesting discussion, and a Land of the Lost cover is as likely a candidate as any. I do not require that the creators of the book actually consciously thought "This is horror" to count a cover as horror. I also think that, if we do pick a Land of the Lost cover as the first EC horror cover, 6 or (less certainly) 5 are probably better candidates for the honor. Scans from GCD, if anybody has better ones I would love to see them: Marty Mann, KirbyJack and Raze
