Popular Post OtherEric
Getting really close on the Two Fisted Tales run, 5 to go. Very happy with this one, it hits the sweet spot I like of decently presenting solid copy but low enough grade to be affordable and a safe reader. Then again, I'm almost always happy to get an EC, I think I use that phrase almost every time I post one. Popular Post Raze
Cover split and detached as per my usual low grade books! Ive been wanting this for awhile but it gets getting more expensive every time one comes up, so this was the best I could do. And I liked the stories!! Popular Post Robot Man
Haven’t gotton any EC horror for a while. So, getting two on the same day is a rare treat. Was disapointed to find the Crypt to be a married copy. Worked it out with the seller for a partial refund that was VERY generous. Contains the classic story “Taint the Meat it’s the Humanity” by Davis. The last panel is epic EC greatness. Love this Vault cover! Drawn so well by Johnny Craig and colored so dramatically by Marie Severin. Cool ‘53 Caddy coming through the cemetery gates. So creepy! That's one of three EC's I lost when I sold most of mine to make the rent about 15 years ago but that I haven't replaced yet. I really need to replace it sooner rather than later. One thing I find really interesting about the cover is that, while it's by Wood, it looks to me like Wood was deliberately trying to do a Williamson/Frazetta style on the cover, since it's for their story. Just glancing at it, and remembering the story it goes to, I always think it's by Williamson or Frazetta, not by Wood. Raze

I was fortunate to buy two file copies HOF 24 (#8) and HOF 26 (#8). Can’t believe it’s been that long! I still have both books and the certificates. I wish I had gotten more. Oh the deals and books I passed on!!! Reading these boards has certainly brought back many memories. I can remember when and where I purchased many of my books and there’s usually a story that goes along with each. And I remember the dealers. All great guys and friends. And the shows - mostly Chattanooga, Atlanta, Knoxville and Nashville but I did venture out to Raleigh, Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I’ll likely start posting some of the books I have and reminisce about them, so please cut me some slack if I’m long winded! LOL. I’m a true collector at heart! Dealing was just never in my blood. I remember Harry Thomas used to laugh and say “there’s nothing wrong with buying high, selling low, and making a lot of friends”! Well, I’m not sure where all my friends wandered off to but I do still have a few beautiful books! I remember thinking how expensive they seemed at the time! I couldn't afford any, but I sure wish I had bought at least one! Very cool, post the books too! On a different note, I just got in the ISF 31 I recently picked up, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was copy #1. Not that it really means anything, its just kind of cool. In the original article I believe it said Bill was going to keep several copies of each book. I always assumed he kept the first couple? He must of sold off whatever he kept at some point I guess. Anyone know? The ads only show the middle copies as being available to the public.
