I don't think that would have helped. We would have needed two threads about this yesterday that were then combined into one mega thread to properly combat this threat.

Since the hack happened from late January thru March, it probable is a little too late.

Sorry guys - missed that post from yesterday. I did a quick look this morning and must have missed it again. Just ignore me.

This hack is nothing compared to Heartbleed. I had to change all of my passwords because of that.

I don't post often, but I would add that it would be highly sensible to change PayPal passwords if they happen to be the same as well. I know if I had eBay data, the first thing I would do is test corresponding PayPal accounts...

They said that the Paypal accounts were not affected since they are a completely separate company on completely different servers. Changing those would be overkill.

I think he's saying if you (for some reason) used the same passwords for both eBay and PayPal.. then you would need to change both.

Online security experts say you should change your passwords on all your stuff at least once a month anyway.

You gotta encrypt that better. I got with "Password" the capital letter keeps the hackers guessing.
