I got a call from an old friend about coming to look at a small OO collection -- some decent stuff.  Before we wrapped up my friend said he had a few comics from when he was a kid and asked if I could look at them.  Out come the old Tupperware containers.  Imagine my surprise when I opened the lid on the first one and there was a beat up copy of Blood Is The Harvest.  It had a nasty spine roll and all of the pages were dogeared.  After a little TLC I got it squared away and it's now on its way to Sarasota.

Hi everyone,

Its awesome to see these great collections!

I recently bought this Is This Tomorrow?, i own 4 copies already but this one caught my eye.  Its not in the best shape by any means, but on the bottom back cover it says:

"So that the Boy Scouts of the St. Louis area may be prepared to meet a threat to the American way of life, this booklet is presented by the Rotary Club of St. Louis"

Anybody know anything about this variant?  Ive never seen it come up before, but think its a pretty awesome piece of history!

These prototypes for anti-communist comic books came from the estate of Reed Harris.

Here is the story from the seller:

We inherited a rank, musky, and very messy garage through an estate property of the late Ann Harris, daughter of Reed Harris, who's professional life was borderline incredible. He wrote a book in '32 that initiated correspondence with Bernard Shaw, He was high ranking in the WPA Federal Writers' Project '35-38, Office of War Information til '43 and served in Navy '44-45 then back to State department, was there when US Information Services (later USIA), faced McCarthy and subcommittee on TV and turned the tables on the senator initiating his downfall, resigned and ran his own publishing company until '61 when Ed Murrow anointed him assistant director of USIA, headed Valley Forge foundation, AMVETS and self government committee top 3, a few highlights... Then, his mother Lois was close friends with Adah Van Noppen, who's husband Leonard was a prominent writer and professor who had all famous artist friends.

Two anti-communist comic book prototypes from this historic figure!

The rareness of this anti-communist tract from 1952 published by Philip M Copp cannot be understated. It is in fact, the companion publication to the more common, and still scarce anti-communist tract called Yalta to Korea. I know of only one other copy of crime, corruption, and communism 8 page tract housed in a private collection.

With pride, I present  my copy of the aforementioned comic

Who did the art?

Copp also did the Atomic Revolution. And was an agent of Noel Sickles.
