Marvel Mystery Comics 46 -- classic Hitler cover

Maybe the hottest book on the planet lately. Heritage has offered two copies recently at 2.0 w/ tape ($4780) and 4.5 w/ glue ($11950). The only other copies you'll find have large pieces missing. This copy has some restoration, but for the most part the front cover has been left alone and presents quite nicely. The restoration was likely done by Richard Muchin, and consists of tear seals with rice paper to the top & bottom of spine, staple at the spine, and another tear mid-spine. There's a little wheat-glue over the seal at the top of the spine inside. There is a piece that was filled in on the back cover at the spine that can be seen in the scan (bottom of the yellow box of "Thrilling mysteries...). There is some color touch on the replaced piece and a few brush strokes spill over onto the front. The only other color touch I can see is a 2 mm spot of red above the Human Torch's head. Again, the front cover is almost completely spared.

 

The paper is Cr/OW and very supple. There are some chews at the top right edge of the first 6 or so pages (none on the cover) that are about 1 mm in and 1.5 inches long.

 

The centerfold has similar chews to a lesser extent and was likely detached at some point and re-attached as the edge has some very light wear.
