Nope. Plenty of 9.8 saga 1's out there with small bindery tears like that one. It's considered a production defect. Barring any creases or spine ticks being disguised by the white cover this book could easily come back 9.8. (thumbs u

+ 1 most 9.8 of saga # 1 have that binary issue. 9.8 all the way.

9.8 IMHO! The bindery tear will not factor into the grade. There does appear to be something inside the top loop of the 'S' in Saga. That may drop the grade if it is there but it's too difficult to be certain from the small scans.
