I actually asked them about this in the 'Ask CGC' forum section and never got a reply. I guess they're waiting for their big PR campaign/rollout before saying anything.

No kidding. Fortunately for CGC, this type of back-door company policy is apparently acceptable for most of the human doormats that suckle at their plastic-slabbed teat.

 

I wonder if they'll acknowledge THIS particular "advancement" around the same time that we actually hear an "official" word about their new restoration service?

'Ask CGC' is a complete waste of time.

 

They will only answer questions that people already know the answer to:

 

"Who are CGC?"

"Do you grade comic books?"

"What is a comic book?"

Actually that makes sense. Movie paper is NOT graded the same as comic books. In fact, as far as I know, there is no consistency in movie paper grading. Dealers have their own systems but they do define them. Fine by me. But no, there is no 9.4, 3.0, 6.5 or whatever in movie paper.

The other thread's link you posted also showed the grade being "EXCELLENT"--so it looks like they aren't following the ten point scale. Pov, just read your previous post. I think we are on the same page...

I don't see anything wrong with this,but I'd like to know what expertise the guys at CGC have with photos.

I'd be curious where they advertised this new service? Can't see where I'l be using it.

 

I actually don't see anything wrong with this either - it just took me by surprise. And I want to know how real it is.

 

It would also be interesting to know how repros are determined from originals and what the grading system is.
