I am trying to figure out if I should get this graded.

I would say yes, just to help insure it doesn't get damaged. Awesome book regardless of what you do with it. I really don't know where this would grade out. Golden age is tough for me .

It looks fabulous for 70+ years old book.

 

Looks like a loose page to me. Is the centerfold detached at one or both staples?

 

I do see a small crease at the lower right corner and tear at the bottom spine corner. A scratch on the cover. There is a tear at the bottom edge. Also the light dust shadow is present on FC. One tiny stain on the bottom edge on FC. I would say 5.0/5.5 but I need to know if you have the loose pages or not.

No loose pages. Tight at centerfold. Pages are great condition and me staples are rust free

That is a positive one.

 

It would have been 7.5/8.0 if not for a tear and stain at the bottom edge on both sides.

 

6.0/6.5 is sound and safe. For this Batman #5, there are 123 graded copies and 29 restored copies out of 163 on CGC census. It's a great rare find!

I'd think that the tear at the bottom would keep it under 6.0, probably closer to 5.0, but you never know with CGC. Sweet eye-appeal though.

 

Worth getting graded for resale I would think.

Great book. Is there H20 to the left of the "B" on front cover spine. Zoom makes it look like it was wet.
