Hey Gemma:

Can you add the Walking Dead Elantra Coupe 2013 Owner's Manual to the Walking Dead (2003 Complete with Variants) set?

Thanks,

Jay

Gemma,

Just to chime in my opinion here, for what it's worth, but I don't believe this book should be added to any of the current WD sets, but in particular to the WD complete with variants set as there is no story material (reprint or otherwise) from the comic in this book (so, in my opinion, it should NOT be added to the set). From my understanding, the set was created to include only issues that contain story material - and I do also believe that this particular issue being excluded has also been discussed in the past. Currently, every single book in the set contains story material from the comic - which is why many other WD related books have not been included into it (such as how this shouldn't as well). Thank you for the consideration to not add it. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions…I appreciate it.

Would it be OK to add as non-competitive as there are several graded and the owners would probably like to be able to show them off at the least?

Gemma,

I don't think this book should be added to the WD complete with variants set in any capacity as it would be the only non-story material book in the set. If we were to add it, even as non-competitive, it would open the door for numerous other books to be included in the set and it was my understanding that the creation of the 'custom' registry set options were for situations like this. I have multiple non-story WD slabs (and various graded TPB's) that I have not requested to be added as the entire premise for the creation of this set was to include all reprints and variants (and multiple printings) containing WD story material issues only. I believe that the person requesting this set could make a custom WD registry set to include this (along with any other TPB's, foreign reprints, or any other WD related books to add to it). I don't want to make this a difficult decision, but I feel that it would not be fair to the rest of us include it into the set at this (or any time, to be honest). Take the other "hyundai" black Friday-ish reprint that is currently in the set - it is my understanding that no other registry set owner has this issue (which means no set can be 100% complete) however it is understandable to have it IN the set as it reprints #1 - the book being discussed with this situation by the original requestor has no WD story material whatsoever in it (whereas the other Hyundai book does). I hope that makes sense…and that is why I don't believe it should be included - event as a non-competitive slot.

Thank you again for the consideration not to include it in the set - please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. As always, we appreciate all that you do for us registry set collectors!

Hello all,

I have a registry set contraction request.

Specifically, in my opinion the "Moon Girl" set should not include any of the Weird Fantasy issues (the set currently includes WF #13-17). Weird Fantasy does not contain anything related to Moon Girl...the only connection is that rather than starting numbering over when Weird Fantasy began, Gaines just picked up where the Moon, Girl, Romance numbering left off (a frequent trick of his to save money on postage rates).

Can we get those five Weird Fantasy issues removed from the set?

Thanks,

Ed

Ryan:

I wasn't aware of this requirement on the set because I haven't seen it listed anywhere, nor was I aware that inclusion of this particular issue had been discussed previously.

Rather than diving into this blind, I asked Gemma if there was a reason the book wasn't included in the set. Gemma said she wasn't aware of one, and told me to request it here. So, neither of us knew this book was in violation of the set rules.

I have rescinded my request.

Thanks,

Jay

Add to set: Walking Dead (2003 Complete with Variants)

I would like to nominate the following two comics to be added to this set:

CBLDF Presents: Liberty Annual 2010 (Original Cover)

CBLDF Presents: Liberty Annual 2010 Retailer Incentive Edition

They both have a Walking Dead cover.

Thanks!

Not to get into this same discussion again, but these books only have covers by Charlie Adlard - there is no Walking Dead affiliation other than that (and there's not even a WD reference on the slab label). I think these books are best placed in a Custom set as you can put whatever you want in those sets…the Complete with Variants set only includes Walking Dead books with story content. I do not wish these two CBLDF books to be included in the set - if any other Walking Dead collectors wish to chime in on the subject, please feel free to do so (but my vote is NOT to include in them in the set).

And, in case anyone worries that I'm biased, I have both of these books and could include them in my set if this were to happen but I still do not think they are justifiable inclusions to the complete with variants set. 2c
