Do you like Golden Age comics?

Can someone explain to a SA->Modern collector about EC? I've heard about them in several threads now. What titles are the best to look into from that publisher?

EC focused on short stories while the other companies focused on continuing characters

The kids preferred the short stories

Some moderns are good like brubaker/[phillips but the vast majority is the same old tired cool wise cracking heroes or angst heroes

There is so much stuff from the GA that you are bound to like something that was produced. Early strip reprints, early superhero, crime, suspense, pre-code horror, westerns, WWII, Korean War, good-girl art...you name it. If you can't find something to like in the GA, you probably don't really like comics and aren't reading this post. Sure, the price are higher but almost everything is available on line or as a disk on ebay.

I try to but they don't hold my attention anymore like they used to when I was a teenager, I became a fact not fiction reader as I got older,

I was out of the comic book hobby for 35 years but love collecting them now again

As far as the debate Bill Everett is one of the few good interior artists

Even Kirby his GA frankly....sucks. Sorry

It was great covers and lame interior for the MOST part.

You can call them Atomic Age if you want but most consider gold/silver/bronze. Trolling, though, does make you say intentionally ignorant things in order to rile people up. I was pretty sure there wasn't much in the world you like except yourself and drugs. What are the comics you enjoy when not spending your money on hallucinogens or anti-psychotics?

Actual trolling like that is pretty rare-most people are interested in their actual opinions, not pretending to have some.

Plus there's no need to troll-if you have strong opinions you will be guaranteed to have strong reactions.
