Currently I'm at 1643 comics (not counting the ones I've read in December so far) but it's safe to say, for the first time in 5 years I won't reach 2000 comics read this year.

 

The reason is that I'm spending a lot more time reading novels and books, where in previous years I would drag 20-30 comics to bed and read until the small hours, now I just take one book, start and finish it.

 

I'm not getting disenchanted with comics, but reading on average 175 comics per month for the past 5 years may just be categorized as obsessive behavior :insane:

 

I should get to 1750 by the end of the year though and that's plenty for me.

That's mighty impressive, I never managed to get over 2500 a year, and the year I did get that number it started to feel like a chore (worship)

 

I'll put a qualifier on that #, half of those are manga where I feel I am cheating counting 22 pages of manga equal to a 22 page US or European comics. If you discount the amount of manga in there, it's closer to 2,250. In any case, you get an idea of how much I've read :)

 

What remains is that I have looked at at least 63,000 pages of art this year!!

Which comes to a total of 1785 comics read in 2015, or about 500 less than last year. I need to pick up my game, feels like I've been slacking this year :insane:

 

As always it's been a lot of fun, and good to see more and more people are joining the crusade, it doesn't matter if you've made it to a 1000 or not, not at all, as long as you've enjoyed reading your comics and not just look at them in a little plastic cage ;)

I hit the thousand number a couple years ago, but it started seeming like a chore toward the end, keeping track. I read plenty of oldies this year, but even with the strip reprints added in, I don't believe I hit a thousand.

 

I may take a hack at it again this year, I'm thiiiiiis close to finishing off a couple big Marvel SA runs, and intend to reread them start to finish when I get those last couple elusive funnybooks. I polished off my Fantastic Four run earlier this year, so that will be up for a good winter's reread soon. Also just scored Luke Cage 1 - 50 right here on the Boards, that's going in the READ THIS pile too. There's better'n 150 right there, and easy to count too, lol

2015 is the first year I kept track. I didn't try to force myself to reading more than usual, so that's probably around my yearly average.

 

Approximately 50% were floppies, 40% were in trade format, and 10% digital
