I'd like to see the timestamp of the PM (is that even possible?). You said you sold the book to someone else who PM'd you at about the same time as me. "First come, first serve." I'd like to know if you chose not to sell it to me because I asked if you would be open to a money order. If he was first, it's all good.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but in his first listing it says "PayPal Only" and nothing about money orders. Therefore, if yall didn't come to an agreement on payment terms, he was able to sell the book to whoever. Even if you posted :takeit: check your PM's. It seems there wasn't an agreement made between you two. Now, if he agreed to take a money order then that is a different story...

Maybe Jerome was just inquiring if the OP would take a money order. And if not, Jerome (I'm sure) would have paid with Paypal. I see no reason to ignore Jerome's :takeit: unless in the their PMs Jerome said he can only pay with a money order.

Yes, I was just inquiring about if he was open to a money order. It looks like he mis-read it as I wasn't able to pay via paypal and only money order. He gave me a schpiel about how he only wants paypal, and that is totally fine, but I should also be given the first opportunity to pay via paypal for the book...assuming I was the first to PM him.

The whole reason I even brought up the money order was because he's also an Oregonian, I thought maybe if he was in the Portland area, we could avoid shipping, I just meet him in person with a money order and call it a day.

He hasn't responded here, or to my follow up PM. When he first told me I wasn't the winner, I had to remove myself from the PM and come back later because I was so pissed, otherwise it would've just been a *spoon* *spoon* *spoon* type of reply.

We'd need to see the PM you sent.

If you clearly said, ":takeit: via Paypal" before you asked about the possibility of an MO, then you've got a case.

If you failed to specify this then it sounds like you're making a new offer under different conditions which he never accepted.

I wasn't making a new offer, just asking if he'd be open to a money order. But when I read the reply from him, I was so pissed (thinking at the time I was the first one) that I deleted the PM from my inbox.

But the OP likely still has it (?) and can post a screenshot of it or quote me. I basically just asked if he was open to a money order, followed up by, "Just Curious." I figured he'd say no (never hurts to ask, does it?) and say he wants paypal only, to which I would've gladly paid up.

If I'm to be grilled for asking about a different form of payment, then people need to lighten the *spoon* up, period. People have asked about different forms of payment than what I specified many times in my sales threads in the past, it's common and innocent to ask imo.

Looking back, I should've specified, I'd still be open to paypal, my bad if that wasn't clear enough, but that is why I followed up the inquiry with a "Just Curious" assuming he would mean it's just an inquiry, but also since I did post a takeit in the thread, he knew I was intending to buy the comic.

Hi everyone,

This is Greg, the newbie seller of the DC New 52 Batman #1 1:200 Sketch Variant. I've only just noticed the posts here and that the question of who bought the comic book was...well, in question.

First off, being the newbie that i am, I have a question I'd like to throw out there:

Is announcing the name of the member who buys the book something that is standard procedure?

I may be more traditional in my thinking on the subject, but given that the Forums are not eBay, I hate to think of a sale as something to be "won." I'm happy to announce that the books have been sold, etc., but beyond that, my first inclination is to consider any transaction as something between myself and the buyer.

But again, being the newbie I am, I really don't know what's expected in this regard, and I don't want to unintentionally offend anyone or not provide the community info that's expected. Please let me know your thoughts and any advice you may have. Thanks!

OK... back to the winner of the Batman book:

Oldshady:

Oldshady is the new owner of the Batman #1 sketch variant.

Thanks everybody -
