Big Hero 6 nominated for Best Animated Movie Oscar...

I thought -- and more importantly my 3 kids thought -- BH6 was a good but not great movie. Pretty standard -script. Surprised it gets an Oscar nomination. Then again, Shakespeare in Love got best picture over Saving Private Ryan, so I'm not surprised.

Did you watch it? I still have not. I know the Lego movie was awesome

I saw both with my family. I do think The Lego Movie was a much better told story with amazing and complex animation, where everything had to include Lego pieces. Including the water, dirt, fire - everything.

I'm not sure what happened behind the scenes that The Lego Movie feels like it is being purposely ignored. It sure deserved better treatment.

But both movies are really cool.

I liked this movie but the view is too noisy and too many things going on at the same time. That may be the factor for not winning the award.
Probably, the momentum from Frozen helped Big Hero 6, with a lot of the behind the scenes talent returning to pitch in, like the director who voiced the burly shopkeeper who sends Kristof off into a snowbank.
