Good Comic Shops located in ...............

Ah you are in luck I lived in Gainesville, Florida for almost 4 years till just recently when I went to work for CGC.

There are four stores in Gainesville.

 

FLORIDA BOOKSTORE VOLUME II

2010 SW 34TH STREET

GAINESVILLE, FL

They sell modern books and comicbook character busts and action figures. They are mostly a subscription service store and don't order a lot other than what thier subscription holders ask for. The comics they do order that stay on the shelves if they don't sell at cover price after a few months they go into a dollar bin. Sometimes you can find some decent modern back issues in there that just didn't sell for cover.

 

MEGA COMICS AND GAMES

6765 WEST NEWBERRY ROAD

GAINESVILLE, FL

This is your typical modern comicbook store. Lots of gaming, tshirts, action figures. LOTS AND LOTS of Modern comics. If you are a back issue collecter you'll be lucky to find anything early than mid 70s in thier backissue bins. It's a nice store though.

 

HOYT'S COSMOS OF COMICS 501 N.W. 23RD AVENUE, SUITE C

GAINESVILLE, FL

This is a nice store, but is only open 3 days a week. They hardly get any new modern comics in, but they have lots and lots of older comicbooks. You'll find a lot of bronze and a couple silvers. Most the older comics seem to be in the FINE to VERY FINE grade range. It's a great place to get nicely priced older comics though. The owner is cool too.

 

There is one more place to get comics in Gainesville other than your local book stores and that is The Toy Consortium. They have a huge 50 cent bin section witch contains some low to midgrade bronze to 1990s comicbooks inside and they get new modern comics every week.
