OK - 3rd and last one of the day goes back to the Golden Age. A beautiful Schomburg cover. I also had this cracked and I also still have the CGC label.

What guess you?

 

to help: blue label, cream to O/W pages, very minor amount of glue on cover

seems like a lot of wrinkling on that b.c. when you enlarge the scans. I'm going out on a limb here and say the glue is going to drag it down to 4.5

I think I responded to quickly to the winner of the AF#15 grade -- I want to give more people an opportunity, and then I'll indicate the actual grade of the Mystic here

It looks no less than 4.5, and if they were in a "Golden Age bump" mood it could go as high 5.5 (though one might not want to crack it out with grade like that)

Tough one this Mystic.

 

 

Well, it graded many years ago at 3.5. I always thought it looked better then the grade, and I wouldn't have cracked it out if it were originally a 5.5.

But it was an old "1999" label -- maybe time for a re-submission ??

I think it would grade much better now. Perhaps a quick press and dry clean would also help?

There may be issues not that evident in a scan as opposed to in hand, but 3.5 seems pretty harsh. I'd say there's a very good chance of a better grade upon resubmit.
