Only reason I can think of is because of weight. Also, CGC probably feels there's endless supply's of posters and Treasuries are limited.

 

CGC!! please think of a way to grade Treasuries. We need to protect them to ensure its future.

I do not see how they are going to distinguish between what is a real poster and what is a reproduction. There are many reproductions that are not considered reproductions when others are or posters made from original stock.

 

This sounds like a nightmare.

Has CGC said who will be doing the grading? Some of the 60s posters have multiple prints, with multiple values. They can be difficult to tell apart from one another.

This is gonna get ugly - mainly because poster collecting has been much more favourable and accepting of conservation ( and restoration ) techniques on such collectables and I think CGC purple labelling might bring a stigma into it that isn't an issue right now.
