PGM Strange Tales 135, First Colonel Nick Fury

In Marvel's response to the spy craze of the day, Nick Fury is recast as an agent of SHIELD. Just picked this up from a boardie and curious to see what you think.

Hard to tell with the scans cutting off the corners and spine, right edge of the book.

Hmm, yeah, I'm prepping my laptop to kill the hard drive and removed some software. I'm relying on the base scan function. I'll see what I can do. I think if I used a dark background that would capture all of it.

white_rushin, looking at the interior front cover, I don't see anything that looks like color touch, and the collector from whom I bought this would likely have seen it himself and certainly disclosed it. What are you noticing?

No CT. The darker color rectangle below the G and E in Strange is present in most Universal copies.

 

Looks like a nice one, James. Within a hair of 8.5 based on what I can see.

It was sold to me as 8.0. He initially called 8 to 8.5 and then backed down to 8.0, but I think it could pull an 8.5. I'll have it pressed, and then I'm confident that it will snag an 8.5 with a "did the graders get laid last night" chance at a 9.0.

I just had seen the top of the FC and there were patches that looked like a dark blue pen, but when you put up the 2nd set of scans I realized it looks like part of the overhang of the book.

Book was advertised as VF. I think it's VF to VF+. I'll get it pressed, and then I'm confident that it will pull an 8.5.
