I re-read Earth X again this afternoon...

Fantastic book, one of my favorite Marvel stories. The art is phenomenal and Krueger really has an understanding of the characters. Universe X is kinda so-so and Paradise X is just *blech*.

While it does seem a bit derivative of Kingdom Come, I really liked this story, enough to buy the issues so I can re-read it from time to time. I think the art is great; never read the sequels as the art seemed inferior to me and I heard later that the story wasn't great either.

I don't think it's derivative to Kingdom Come at all. I think it's an extension of what the Marvel Universe could become, and it all made sense. It it didn't all fall into place with what was known about the MU to begin with and felt forced, then I can see that point.
