That's kind of what I think. I picked one copy up in Birmingham, Alabama (but the guy I bought it from buys a lot of collections...so it could be from anywhere) and the other was bought in Tampa, FLA.

Honestly, I see NO difference at all. Black is black, right.

It is hard to tell. The blue is a navy blue at best. Regardless, its still pretty dark and not a typical blue.

They look the same except one has more smudges (losss of color) than the other...I doubt OS would mark these two examples as variants...

That is NOT the Blue Variant and is most likely a sun-faded copy or one that was printed while low on ink.

 

If I have time this week, I will try and post an image of mine, which definitely shows a bluer background, similar to a evening sky.
