CAF update: Greg Larocque FLASH #54 COVER - 'Nobody Dies' !

5 posts in this topic

Hi guys,

Just in time for The Flash season finale episode and for Flash's 75TH

anniversary;

I'm very happy to post this 'Art Day' message, as this is truly one of my

favorite pieces I ever had the luck to add to my humble collection,

since I started collecting OA a little over 10 years ago:

As a Superhero fan, I've been spoiled since childhood/teen hood;

My very first Batman The Animated Series episode was 'Heart Of Ice'.

My Very first Superman comic had a Kerry Gammill cover.

My very first Batman comic had a Norm Breyfogle cover.

And my very first Flash comic was FLASH #54 - "Nobody Dies":

Arguably the single greatest standalone Flash story of all time.

A little masterpiece by William Messner-Loebs, Greg Larocque &

Jose Marzan Jr.

If you have yet to read it, go pick it up right now, you'd thank me for it,

just don't ask me to sell you the cover afterwards... ;)

For me, this is as good as it gets !

As always, comments are welcome and appreciated.

Cheers,

Gal

Congratulations, Gal! I'm glad your post in the "wanted" thread proved fruitful. You're absolutely right... This was a terrific issue -- a great "done in one" gem.

Makes me wonder how many others on the board have been able to acquire pages or a cover from their first issue of comics. That's got to feel pretty good!

Thank you for the kind words guys ?.

Just to clarify; that wasn't my first ever comicbook, that honor probably goes

to one of the translated ASTERIX books.

FLASH #54 was 'only' my first comic to have the Flash star in it.

However, it was SOOO good, it made me beg my parents to get me

a subscription for my birthday.

(Spoiler: they did).
