Kakapo
I thought so too, it was an impulse purchase, spotted on ebay with about 4 hours to go...who searches for "G.I. Combat" once a week, anyway? Does anyone know anything about the cover artist, Mr Grandenetti? Not a name I'm familiar with...
Aman619
he did a lot of DC BA mystery stories late in his career, but was a GA stalwart for many years.
john72tex
Picked up this Batman off of Ebay last night: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6545688830&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 I guess you could consider it a Golden Age book though. Any chance you could rescan it to show all the edges and corners?
ComicBookGuy
It's good to see people posting in here again. This is one of my favorite threads. The Superman and GI Combat are awesome. I've never seen the GIC before. By the way, where's Adam Strange been lately? He sure is missed here. Joe

Dunno where Adam's been. Perhaps between work and disgust with the incessant squabbling on the boards, he's decided to keep a lower profile. Or maybe he's run out of cool books to share with us. tth2
SLR5, what would you grade it as?
SteveLRoberts5
A 9.2 or a 9.4. A couple of months ago my Superman 146 came back a 9.2 and I think this book is a bit nicer than the Superman. But I'm not certain how much CGC deducts for that arrival date stamp. What would you think?
rube11
The date stamp won't really affect the grade at all. The only "issue" is the bottom left corner. The book is definitely in the 9's range. Great book and condition. Rube

More info about Jerry at his web page: http://www.jergrand.com/ Last I knew he's still with us and in his 80s. He did some excellent work on Eisner's post-war Spirit. In the 50s and early 60s he primarily did DC war comics including most of the war greytones like the one you have. 2nd story is by Andru/Esposito 3rd story is by Mort Drucker
Jeffro.
Not high grade unfortunately, but a nice grey tone conver nonetheless.
