PURCHASES:

All I really bought… I actually spent less than last year. A lot of books were high retail with some deals to be found.

19005029105_11c1271f2d_z.jpg

Didn’t buy most of these, just got artist sigs (no SS). I did get the Death of Capt. Marvel from Nik and I picked up the vintage SW coloring book, which is cool and unused:

SUMMARY:

All in all, great show, great location, lots of artists/creators. This is truly a show for COMIC fans. It’s a great show to just walk around and meet folks, buy a few books and such, gets some signatures and sketches, and have a good time. A few more notes… Mike Zeck was there, but he was always swamped along with Skottie Young. I was disappointed Ryan Ottley (Invincible) canceled, but it was still a great show. I already made it back home (didn’t stay for day three). See ya next year HeroesCon. :hi:

If anyone else wants to add pics/summaries/etc, jump in :whee:

I almost forgot.... :o

TRUE STORY:

We were headed downstairs to go to the Con and we were on the elevator. We got the the lobby floor and the door opened. Standing right in front of me was none other than... STAN LEE.

I was like star struck for a moment and didn't know what to do. It was just so bazaar seeing him right there. I said "hey" as I passed him and he got on the elevator and headed upstairs.

When I took the pic with him later I told him, "Thank you Mr. Lee" and he replied, "Hey, thank you for coming."

Pretty sweet.

As I was about to pose with Stan, I told him thanks for entertaining us all of these years. He said, "thank you for your graciousness." As I was leaving, I said "you helped make all of this possible." He turned as I was leaving and nodded. Priceless! :cloud9:

Great report. From the looks of things, there were more comics in the Heroes Con bathroom area than we had on the entire sales floor in STL last month.

Looks like a great con. I'll have to try to make it over there sometime....

I have been going to shows in Charlotte for decades and I can attest that Saturday was massive! This show is getting huge! The line to buy entrance passes was out the door from first thing in the morning until around 3:00 when I was walking out. They did a great job of moving people into the show too. It was a great day all around. JB <a href=image.jpg1_zpseima4lhv.jpg' alt='image.j
