The next thing is kind of a cool thing that Hasbro did. It was unveiled at Joe Con but will be showcased at SDCC as well. Back in February, noted GI Joe collector Gary "Goggles" Head passed away. As a noted collector and unofficial ambassador of the product, Hasbro decided to memorialize this superfan and used his name as the basis of one of their characters.

Hisstank announcement of Gyre-Viper (Gary "Goggles" Head) passing away. HERE

That set is available to purchase at TRU and select online vendors.

BBTS and TRU are offering this package at $60 and $50 respectively. You get a black Skystriker, a red Hiss Tank and four figures with one of the Joes being a figure called Sightline whose real name according to his filecard is Gary Goggles.

Pretty cool move Hasbro...

From Joe Con but being made available after SDCC...

Hasbro is releasing some more concept case figures and offering a Charlie "Spirit" Iron Knife that looks a lot less of a caricature of Native Americans. The Storm Shadow has been on a few wish lists for a couple of years...

BTW these images are on Hisstank but were provided by Hasbro itself.

DC is really knocking the Batman Animated figure line out of the park!

The genius of these figures is in the articulation. Really, for example, take a look at the legs as they swivel out and around yet have very clean points of articulation by the hips.

Available in stores by the end of the month I believe... debuting for purchase at the con? Someone correct me if I am wrong on this as I do not believe that this is a con exclusive.

In disappointing news...

Flyguy.net is hinting that articulation may be almost more than dead moving forward...

Check out this FB page post from them...

Are they trolling the internet or are they trying to warm people up to the idea. Over the last few years, figures have been shrinking (Avengers and Guardians Lines) and figures are being made with the old school 5 points of articulation. It is a step backward to cut costs.
