Joe Jusko FANTASTIC FOUR Original Art 17" x 25" Color Painting PUBLISHED COVER !

There's NO RESERVE on this piece so, regardless of price it's going, going, gone... and to be sold to the top bidder! It's huge with vibrant color and was published as both the cover of a comic book and used for trading cards too. This depicts the origin of the Fantastic Four.

 

This is currently on Heritage Auctions for Sale in their Signature Auction LOT #92112.

This lot is in: 2 - Signature® Floor Session (Live Floor, Live Phone, Mail, Fax, Internet, and Heritage Live):

(Lots 92001-92328) - 1:00 PM Central Time, Friday, August 28, 2015.

(Internet bidding ends at 10:00 PM Central Time the night before the floor session for each lot)

 

Since it's a Heritage live auction, there's no specific time this auction ends, but the date is on Friday, August 28th.

 

The current bid as of 08/12/15 is only at $800 !!!

 

Joe Jusko published painted original art values generally start at $3,500 for lesser known characters, and this large Fantastic Four painting has an estimated value of at least $5,000, but as we all know, original artwork is one of a kind and the marketplace will dictate the sale price.

Description:

 

This is a full color acrylic painting that's oversized at 17" wide x 25" tall. It's a published piece from 2002 used as the cover for Marvel Double Shot #3.

 

Joe Jusko is renown for his painted illustrations and this is an epic prime example of his published work for Marvel.

 

Marvel also licensed this iconic image by Joe Jusko and it appeared in the 2013 Marvel Fleer Retro trading card set cards as part of the "1991 Marvel Universe" sub-set of rare chase insert cards as follows:

The image of the painting shows the origin of The Fantastic Four in all out vivid action scene, showcasing their super powers, including The Invisible Girl phasing; Mr. Fantastic stretching; The Human Torch flamed on, soaring through the sky; and The Thing ready for "Clobberin' Time" united as a team.

JadeGiant... THANK YOU !!! The main reason I'm selling it is because (contrary to what actually may make this piece more desirable to them) is the 17" x 25" monolithic size. I tend to like standard 11" x 17" sized art. I'm the same way with DPS, and have stayed away from pieces that span that 17" x 22" dimension. I'm hoping this piece finds a very happy home for the new owner to proudly display. The colors are very vibrant and it's painted on a nice thick board, so is easy to frame.
