The bar code and serial numbers seem a bit off.

Why would someone fake a label for this book? lol

Did you look at the price it's going for?

They prolly got the idea from the Modern thread . . .

Because it's so difficult to think of on your own.

I've noticed that reports only work when there's plenty of time left in the auction-when it gets close to sale time they dont seem to do anything

Hello, this is the eBay seller. I'm selling books for a friend under his account because he needed to liquidate. We are not underhanded dealers. Infact, he bought this years ago from a dealer on eBay. Both of us, like so many, others trusted the label. Needless to say, he's upset and we're going to go after THAT seller. In the meantime, I will GLADLY and quickly refund your money. There was no malice planned and I'm sorry that I didn't see it.

After looking at it closely, the things the other members pointed out were there. There was a break in the consistency of the color on the label around the "white pages" and another number was actually photocopied onto the last digit of the serial number. It's pretty upsetting to know that this practice is taking place because a large part of grading a book is to make sure no one tampered with it. I'm going to go through all of my CGCs now and look at them with a closer eye.
