MegaCon Fan Days Nov. 21-22, 2015 Orlando, FL

Looks like after the takeover Fan Expo will be applying a similar schedule to what they run in Dallas. There we actually have a small two day show in February, a three day show in October, and then the big kahuna in very early June.

I am thinking this will be like a mini-MegaCon. I would love to see some great guests and Vendors. I would go to MegaCon every weekend, so I am extremely excited to hear about this. Very short window for announcing to implementing though

If these are like the Fan Days vs Comicon in Dallas I wouldn't expect the full-blown Megacon experience. Think Megacon light. Still fun, but not the giant main event by a long shot.

Four other shows are going on the same weekend which have been promoted for over a year just in case anyone is interested.

1. http://thecomicbookconnection.com/ - Comic Book Connection (A monthly convention which takes place all over the state of Florida. Mostly deals in gold and silver age titles, lot's of CGC and some copper and modern, November show takes place in Jacksonville FL.)

2. http://www.clermontcomiccon.com/ - Clermont Comic Con (This show takes place in Clermont Florida, which is around a half hour west of Orlando. About 90% comic book vendors, the rest is mostly toy vendors, local artists and a nice guest roster, lot's of events and hosts a Magic The Gathering $5000.00 tournament.)

3. http://wp.freeplayflorida.com/ - Free Play Florida (Not sure if I should mention this show in the "comic events" forum, this show is a giant retro arcade about 1000 video games and pinball machines held in the convention center part of a hotel. The other two rooms are nerd music and miscellaneous comic book and toy vendors, plus some local artists.)

4. http://ultraconofsouthflorida.com/ - UltraCon of South Florida (UoSF is a comic book and toy convention which is held in Fort Lauderdale Florida, it has been around since 1988. The show is mostly comic books and vintage toys, and very cosplay and MMA heavy. UoSF host's it's own professional MMA fights which includes legit MMA fighters that you may know from UFC, Pride or other MMA shows.)

If you want to know what other comic book conventions are going on in the state of Florida, you can find at http://www.floridageekscene.com/

Thanks for sharing but would pass on any of those in lieu of MegaCon (Even a fan days version)

I did the mini-Megacon when they had it. It was in August, hot and humid. Sales were o.k. but nothing near the real Megacon. The complaint about this one is that the new owners have not contacted the existing vendors, some of which have done the show for many, many years. There seems to be an aloofness to this new group and I am afraid it will cost them. We have heard nothing until this announcement appeared. Not good PR.
