How about one Happy (Event) thread per poster per day?

371 posts in this topic

I thought we were supposed to talk about comics around here...

somewhere there is a site devoted to birthdays and anniversaries where they are doing "this week in comic books" threads.

:roflmao:

There are definitely movie forums that talk about their dislike of comic book stories. That would be funny to happen across a Hallmark forum where they tell people take their comic book discussions somewhere else - this is a BIRTHDAY discussion.

It is interesting some are trying to imply those in support of birthday threads have been attacking everyone to make their point. Yet if you go back through the other two threads that started this discussion yet again...

Should there be a happy birthday sub forum ?

Poll - Should there be a happy birthday sub forum?

... some implied in these threads Oakman and Azkaban kept the birthday threads going so that they could fit in, and qualify for Forumite of the Year.

I also don't see them (or anyone else positive about birthday threads) creating yet more categories of recognition threads so as to mock the other side. Nor carrying on in those threads how what they do is for selfless service, though they deserve recognition.

Sure. The 'birthday pro team' are the aggressors. Ban them. Ban them now, and save us all!

:ohnoez:

I am not implying anything. I am flat out telling you that you specifically Bosco, and several others, wherher intentionally or not, have chosen to flat out dismiss anyone that is opposed to bday threads.

"Selfless service"? lol

They posted happy birthday threads. Thanks Oak. Thanks Azkaban. There. Recognition. Done.

Guess what? Some people don't want bday threads in CG. Some do. I would GUESS most don't care.

Some care. Some don't. Either way, I bet they are still going to threads they want to read, or else they wouldn't be coming back here. Would they?

As far as you telling me I have flat-out dismissed anyone that has opposed bday threads, you are dreaming. Even the other day I pointed out it appeared the only middle ground would be to go with the sub-forum because all this had come down to was two hardcore sides not giving in.

It would appear the only middle ground on the topic is to create the birthday sub-forum

But in your head, of course we all have been dismissing people, right? Seems to work with the fantasy story you are telling.

lol Point proven.

Also, this in this thread but what do I know...

Grown men crying about the need for a birthday thread ... please grow a sack.

Wouldn't it work the other way as well - grown men complaining about birthday threads they could easily pass up and read what they like, and then bumping old threads and starting new ones just to protest birthday threads?

Slym it makes me sad. Sorry you guys felt there was any hidden agenda to them, really I just wanted to make someone's day a little brighter. Now that you have sh-t all over that, they seem to be pointless anyway. Good for you.

Oh come on, this is getting ridiculous.

No one has mess on them. No one has said anything about any hidden agendas. Plenty of people have voiced their opinion and the "pro" birthday side has put together an impressive campaign of shaming, dismissing, smarminess, ridicule because someone disagrees with them.

Yay, community!!!

For the record, I could give two either way. Are they a nice thing? Sure. Are they annoying? Sure. Do I skip them most days. Absolutely.

The rest of this bs is entertaining, enlightening and totally embarrassing.

Carry on.

Come to the dark side Parky.

The next HB abolitionist meeting is at 5 PM.

I'll be conducting a 40 page PowerPoint presentation titled, "How to Destroy Morale on the CGC Forums."

There will also be a short Satanic ceremony (please bring a small live animal you don't mind parting with) followed by bacon snacks and absinthe.

Be there or be square.

Will there be ponies?

And porn?

More importantly, can they fix Andy?

That's what the porn is for.

Or was it the ponies?

They combined the two.

Ewwwww.

No ponies...but we screen "Labor Day in Des Moines" at 6 PM.

That is dismissing someone? That is pointing out someone's mocking, and noting the counterpoint to their statement.

But good try!

Someone really needs to post a video from Clerks 2.

I think this thread has crossed into "emotionally charged topic" territory, please do not post any videos about clerks, my great grand pappy on my uncle's side lost a leg clerkin' in the early 30's during the depression.

It is funny how those that started out having issues with birthday threads that then graduated to mocking those that appreciated birthday threads don't like they are getting back in kind what they are giving.

Park, you can act like you are the innocent here wronged by the big, bad birthday threads. It will be fine. There are plenty of spots across CG where threads are popping up that are non-birthday content.

Literally none of that is true. lol

I laid out my position fairly clearly. I don't care one way or the other. That would be the second time. Clear as day.
