  3. I'm absolutely blown away that someone hasn't blown the whistle on this.......
  4. friend of mine owns that ASM 1 9.4......it's like nails on a chalkboard to look at it!
  5. Not sure, maybe 4 years? Showcase is a tough run to produce for sure! I'll do a group shot of the whole set shortly.
  6. Wow - what happened here? Post count fell off a cliff? The sky really is falling!
  7. Most fun and diverse comic book set to collect, IMO. Need to update these images, but figured i'd share some groupcandy.
  8. I hear you man (and i usually do offer returns, this listing was a holdover from before i'm guessing). But, ebay wasn't the problem here - they told me i didn't have to return it because of how the buyer set up the return ("changed my mind"). But because she already returned the book to me (without my permission, but besides the point), paypal will of course side with her. And my issue isn't providing a refund, it's the behavior of the buyer from the beginning..... hence the warning to my fellow forumites!
  9. Hey guys - here's a funny one to add to the pile (and would suggest you consider blocking). eBay user quibet01 Buys a book from me. About four hours after paying sends me a rather rude note declaring i should have shipped already (no joke!), and she now wants to cancel. I explain to her that i had already shipped (amazing, right?), only not updated the tracking number to ebay ....right there i knew right we had an issue. She sends me a note after receiving the book that she bought the wrong one for her husband and now she wants to return it. I had a no returns policy on the listing, but explained to her i'd work with her. She then says she already returned the book (just went ahead and did it) and wants her full refund. I tell her that I'd like reimbursement of my shipping cost to send her the book originally. She leaves me a negative and files a paypal claim against me. First negative in 15 years of doing this, 5,000+ deals and 1,600 feedback *sigh* I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does. but Oh, how it does
  10. Agree with Roy, but the reality is that books rarely command above a cgc 6.5 if they are truly with chipping. That means more than one chip, visible and prominent (on an otherwise VF+ book, for example). I think zhamlau's comment on "max 4.0" is a reflection on how much you personally dislike chipping...which is fine. But others might argue they don't think chipping should take the book down more than half a grade, no matter how severe. At the end of the day, CGC does not publish their methodology, but there is irrefutable evidence that chipping affects grade.....
  11. Saw it again today and liked it just as much (maybe more, picking up more of the detail). It's wall to wall entertainment AFAIC! Another theater packed full of happy customers - with multiple rounds of clapping. I understand some of the feedback i've seen here (too much to cram in, CGI missed some things), but pure hate and negativity towards it....can't follow!! For the DCEU, i hope it makes a comeback at the Box Office, so many more good movies to make!

  13. Don't waste your time brother, I really don't think anyone listens to JayD-bag anymore. Ignore button has been humped by the most of the boards...
  14. Loved it. Absolutely Loved it. Had to settle for a lousy seat in the sold out theatre -- with several bouts of cheering and actual sharing of "high fives" between total strangers. Am quite pleased with the outcome. Like others, however, I would have liked 15-20 more minutes of content to fill things in a bit more. Hilarious to watch the same couple of folks here bash it ..... especially so for those that haven't seen it. And the amount of time they spend here bashing DCEU, omg, classic!! Going to see it again today or tomorrow!
  15. Isaac is always easy to deal with, and has plenty of great books! A+
  16. Look at the one bidder who has personally bid on it like 20 times last 2 days hmmm.......
  17. Have done Deals with James over the years (including 4-figure deals and time payments). James is easy to deal, no doubt! James comes recommended to my fellow forumites! Joey
  18. I'll try to post some pics of my set - just an awesome Superman collectible and so hard to find (compared to golden age books, pre-war baseball cards ... really anything)
  19. 1940 Superman GUM Set Hey all - I know this is a stretch for CG, but wondered who else out there was a fan of the 1940 Superman GUM card set. They have great art on one side and scene stories on the back side. i just finished my first Graded set (of 72) and there are only 7-10 other complete graded sets noted. It Combines cool, old and rare for the ultimate set to collect in my view. Of course that is also biased by being a huge Superman fan. Any other fans out there of this set? joey
  20. We have these same arguments with JayGod (self applied Subconcious slip) in thread after thread. Almost everywhere he posts. he goes from thread A asserting he knows everything, everyone else is wrong, (and stupid), to thread B asserting the same. Then rinse, repeat. NERV, I appreciate your patience through this thread, you have taken this with a lot more restraint than the 5-6 dozen or more others (myself included) who are fed up. A debate is fine, but debating with the self-annoited king of all things comics, JayGod, is like arguing with a smart, stubborn 7-year old. The more people that put him on ignore, the less we'll have to deal with it. I for one would like to get back to the fun of debating issues and seeing both sides treat the other with respect, and the associated fun of taking books. My opinion on this subject is that the Nov copy is a 2nd state of a first edition. I think there are many 2nd,3th,4th states of books that we never knew about because the look wasn't changed in the interim. Hence the value differences are generally deemed small, inconsequential to some. Joey
  21. Saw it yesterday and was the first time my entire family agreed on a movie. Everyone loved it, including the wife who really isn't into superhero stories. will definitely shatter records all over the place which is great for the DCEU and continued momentum into Justice League.
  22. Elmer is super easy to deal with and very professional. Large transaction (5-figure) was easy as pie. Highly recommended to all my fellow boardies! joey
