Duffman_Comics
Due to some unfortunate health issues with my dad, we’ve not been purchasing many books as of late. I did manage to take some group shots this weekend as I’ve been saying I’d do it for a couple months. They do include our most recent purchases from the last sig. auction. Hope you enjoy. I’ll try and get some more done next weekend. (thumbs u Andrew Beautiful group shot. Some great books there Andrew. Sorry about your Dad. I know exactly how you feel. 2020-migration
The last time Adamstrange asked me to start up a thread, it produced some pretty good results. So in the hopes that lightning can strike twice, I invite everyone to post their favorite Duck covers (there've been a lot posted on these boards, but never all collected in one place, to my knowledge). Although this thread is in the GA forum, please feel free to post your duck books from all eras. As in the 10 cent thread, I'll get the ball rolling with a triumvirate of Uncle Scrooge firsts: FC 178, the first appearance of the world's richest duck WDC&S 98, his first appearance in WDC&S and FC 386, the first issue in his own run Quack Quack

MstrTech
Glad you all like the group shots, finished with the WDC&S tonight 201-263 only missing 6 in this group. We have a few past the 263 mark but I stored them someplace else and cannot seem to find them at the moment. Don't know if you all want to see more, like the US or DD sets but I can work on that if you want. Also need to get some group shots of all the raw books that fill in the gaps and get some of the dupes ready to sell. Kind of nervous about starting a sales thread, any tips would be appreciated. Scrooge
I bought a FC 9 not too long ago, low grade so I had the Ze-Man do some work on it for me to strengthen the book so I can enjoy reading it more. We decided to keep all other aspects unchanged (e.g., the staple placement). Here's a before and after shot -

Duffman_Comics
I was doing a little re-bagging and boarding last night and came across this. As is usual (for me anyway) I'd completely forgotten I had it. For those who came in late, Disney/Dell's were reprinted here from 1946-1974. They were (obviously) printed in low numbers but, surprisingly, the page quality was better than the originals - although the cover stock was simply an extension of the internals. This one was actually the second reprint of FC #386 here - the first was in 1952, this one is from 1958. Here's a link to a useful database of these things. I've always been confused as to why this is the 'Giant' series when they are the same size as all the other Aussie reprints - i.e. 32 pages including the front cover. (Which meant that the 32 page stories like 'Only a Poor Old Man' had to have a page cut - I don't have that one; what was cut from the Dell issue?) But it turns out that the even earlier ones had 24 pages (I have a few of those now). In terms of quantity the early Aussie reprints left a lot to be desired! Cheers, Andrew
