What books do you see as basically worthless (not even worth a dime)?

I've designated Malibu books as instant donations while holding on to the Valiant stuff.

Good point - I hope you give them all away.

And I hope you make a mint before the unfounded movie hype dies down.

Wish I found some of those. I did stumble on an ultra high grade black and white Spawn 1 that I thought looked cool and turned out to be valuable.

And I hope you make a mint before the unfounded movie hype dies down.

The prices were higher before the movie rumors. Before the $100,000,000+ investment for movies. Is there a chance you don't know what you're talking about? :foryou:

lol. Yes, it's always possible. Only what I read on the internet (and yes, this is an older article, I know) Really was only joking around, not trying to bring a knife to a gun fight. :foryou:http://onlythevaliant.com/2009/06/are-valiant-comics-worth-anything/

And hopefully that investment pans out. :wishluck:

Here's what we should be doing to figure out what is worthless... let's check what is most likely to BE in those extra longboxes of books.

If there are more copies in existence, then there's a good chance they're somewhere... possibly everywhere.

If there are more copies in existence, then there's a good chance everyone who wants one already has one.

If there are more copies in existence, then there's a good chance supply is much higher than demand.

So... the most common books in existence from the "worthless" era are likely the top books from 1993 and 1994.

Scroll past the monthly section, it's not available... but the Yearly Sales lists are below:

http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/1993.html

http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/1994.html

What's the highest ranking book from either list that actually has value in today's market? hm

I see Deadpool #1 at the #134 spot for the 1993 list. That's worth more than cover price. Besides that... uh... lol

Greg, I love you man, but that's flat wrong & you know it, unless your time horizon is 8 years, back to the peak of 2008-2009.

The week before the movie announcement there were _at least_ 4 copies of Harbinger 1 in CGC 9.8 sitting unloved on eBay at BINs of $325-$350. And at least two of them were posted by LoneStar alone.

And copies had been available at that price ($325-$350) for a good six weeks' prior.

I didn't say the prices were higher for all of the 20+ years before the movie rumors. lol

The peak of CGC 9.8 Harbinger #1 was $2,500 which was BEFORE the movie rumors. Or am I "flat wrong"? (shrug)

No comic is worthless, as long as you live in the US and have taxable income.

In the eyes of mother Eyrus, all omics are equal.

I've got 8 long boxes donated already this year with another 7 more almost ready to be donated next month. And then 15 more long boxes will be donated next January to thin the herd a bit. I don't know what the library is going to do with 70 copies of Youngblood 14 but hopefully they all find a home.

I wish I had this problem. I am always looking for boxes of books.

Lately, I'm thinking my instinct about an NFL SuperPro movie in the next 3-5 years might be slightly off. I've watched the Guardians of the Galaxy Blu Ray frame by frame and he's nowhere to be found in the Collector's trophies. So sadly i think those books might have no value. But I hope my lack of faith doesn't stop the true believers out there.

nfl superpro 1 actually does sell, not for a lot, a few bucks
