RHG's More Funs

56 posts in this topic

Can be found here (sorry Mark Z): http://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/PeopleSetDetail.aspx?PeopleSetID=100542

I'm missing the Big Kahunas (nos. 52 and 73), but almost all of the collection is comprised of pedigree copies. About 20% of my MFs are not represented in the Registry set because they are unslabbed.

More Funs don't get much love around here, but they've always held a special place for me because they were DC's first title.

I can't think of the right adjective, so I'm just going to go with "good stuff".

If you had to choose pre- or post-Spectre, which would you go after?

Between pre-heros and the Green Arrow issues, I prefer the pre-heros, particularly those with Flessel covers. But issues 52-72 are the sweet spot of the run in my opinion.

Wow Peter that is some collection. You know the #53 is nice when it's a quarter million registry points :insane:

Yes, I've found that the Registry points do not always reflect actual value, and this is an example.

I know what you mean, but still :)

Wow. Congrats for besting me RHG! I had a good Registry run for almost a decade! You beat me fair and square! (worship)

Like RHG, I have an attraction to More Fun as DC's first title. Along with Adventure and Detective, the run has a certain charm that I find compelling.

Peter, any chance we can get individual scans of your raws (not in the registry set)?

I love these books, especially the Spectre More Funs. Did Zaid sell his collection?

No, he still has it, but I think he's stopped actively collecting. It's too bad, he contributed a lot to the hobby.

I'll be slowly coming back :gossip:

Hey Mark, good to see you post again. (thumbs u
