most dificult SA-BA Spideys to find well centered?

#17 is one that jumps to mind for me. Not so much for being off-center, though it can be, but for the variability on the right edge. Many people don't realize that the guy in the lower right corner was actually drawn with an ear, because many copies cut off the right edge pretty extremely. I've seen copies with the right side of the number box and comic code completely cut off. There are also copies with plenty of blue to the right of the number box but still no ear. And note that the spine centering seems to be fine on all of these.

Don't the colours just pop when raw? Makes you realize how much a slab takes away from the appreciation of a book.

I have always loved the blues on this cover, and #18 as well. Beautiful choices.

Great cut on this copy. I was really trying to find an "ear" copy for my keeper, but ended up with a really nice 9.0 with an average cut.

I never noticed the missing ear. I wasn't a mint freak so I guess I just missed the whole point of this hobby. lol

The ear has nothing to do with condition. If you look at the examples quoted at the top of the page, the lowest grade example actually has the most ear showing. It is just a reflection of the variability of the cut for this book, much as the other books mentioned have variability in the wrap of the cover.

See the white paper along the Lizards tail, Spideys butt & calf? Very nice book there, but still a touch out of reg.

I have no idea what you've just explained... (shrug)

i'm not talking about the position/wrap, but the registration. How colors are trapped in position. This book is always out of registration. The white along the top of the Lizards tail isnt supposed to be there.

I think he's talking about ink registration, not cover centering.
