Star Wars #1 Sealed in Polybag (not the reprint)

Hello,

Please forgive what may be a newbie question as I am much more of a vintage toy collector than comic collector. However, I recently bought a Star Wars #1 which was still sealed in a polybag. The bag looks totally original and not something that was added later. It is also not the reprint version.

 

Is this how they were sent out originally? I was going to get it graded as it looks like an easy 9.6 or better. Should I not grade it and keep it in the bag?

 

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Looks like it was well-preserved. I'm curious about the page quality. When you open it up, let us know what the PQ is.

Opened it up, pages are nice and white. Just shipped it off for grading today.
