Star Wars #1 Sealed in Polybag (not the reprint)

14 posts in this topic

Hello,

Please forgive what may be a newbie question as I am much more of a vintage toy collector than comic collector. However, I recently bought a Star Wars #1 which was still sealed in a polybag. The bag looks totally original and not something that was added later. It is also not the reprint version.

Is this how they were sent out originally? I was going to get it graded as it looks like an easy 9.6 or better. Should I not grade it and keep it in the bag?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Chris

Maybe it came from Reynold Jay?

Wasn't that his (self-proclaimed) claim to fame? Having the prescience to vacuum-pack hundreds of 70s & 80s comics & put them in cold storage for 30 years?
