DeadOne
Here's a description of the trailer: http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/05/19/cw-riverdale-trailer-description-plus-frequency-and-no-tomorrow-trailers The Riverdale trailer begins with evocative images of the town, including a flowing river and happy high school kids, but with a “there’s something not quite right” vibe to it all, as the images flash by quickly. We’re told in voice over “This story is about a town. A small town. Safe, decent, innocent…” A lot of the imagery is very 1950s, with plenty of letterman jackets and classic cheerleader outfits and old school looking diners, reflecting the original Archie comics, but with a much darker and moodier sheen to it. The voice over continues noting there are “Shadows underneath the town,” and we see there’s a police search going on. One man says, “They’ll never find his body. Not with this current” and a woman exclaims, “I hope in his last moments he suffered.” Veronica (Camila Mendes) is glimpsed, as someone asks, “Is it true what they say about your dad?” We see Betty’s (Lili Reinhart) mom (Mädchen Amick) tell her to “stay focused” and put a bottle of prescription pills into her hand. Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) is heard grimly saying, “Tell Veronica about your sister and my dead brother!” And Archie’s father (Luke Perry) tells Archie (K.J. Apa), “The choices you’re making now – they do have consequences.” The trailer ends with footage of a body being pulled out of the water and the Riverdale logo. We’d heard Riverdale described from the start as “Archie meets Twin Peaks” and this trailer really hit that home, pushing an atmospheric and dark, dream-like vibe and the use of purposely anachronistic 1950s styles (most notably with the high school kids), very much in the way Twin Peaks did. Add in the presence of Madchen Amick and it was particularly hard not to think about that cult series. Riverdale debuts in 2017 on the CW.
MetalPSI
Yeah I saw the "description". Doesn't really help to hear someone's interpretation of what they saw. Rather see it for myself

Bosco685
TV News Wrap-Up: Riverdale Synopsis The CW has released the official synopsis for their upcoming series Riverdale, an adaptation of the characters found in Archie Comics. “As a new school year begins, the town of Riverdale is reeling from the recent, tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom – and nothing feels the same. Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is still the All-American teen, but the summer’s events made him realize he wants to pursue a career in music – not follow in his dad’s footsteps – despite the sudden end of his forbidden relationship with Riverdale’s young music teacher, Ms. Grundy (Sarah Habel). Which means Archie doesn’t have anyone who will mentor him – certainly not singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), who is only focused on her band, the soon-to-be-famous Pussycats. It’s all weighing heavily on Archie’s mind – as is his fractured friendship with budding writer and fellow classmate Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is anxious to see her crush Archie after being away all summer, but she’s not quite ready to reveal her true feelings to him. And Betty’s nerves – which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother Alice (Mädchen Amick) – aren’t the only thing holding her back. When a new student, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother Hermione (Marisol Nichols), there’s an undeniable spark between her and Archie, even though Veronica doesn’t want to risk her new friendship with Betty by making a play for Archie. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)… Riverdale’s Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty, and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows…” The death of a character leads into the series. Huh. I didn't see that coming. Bosco685
Stranger Things' Shannon Purser Joins CW's Riverdale Following her breakout role in Netflix’s Stranger Things, it seems that Shannon Purser is joining another sure-fire hit. In an exclusive report, Entertainment Weekly has announced the up-and-coming actress will star in The CW’s Riverdale. Riverdale, which is based on the characters of Archie Comics, is set to premiere later this year to fans’ delight. According to EW, Shannon will be playing Ethel Muggs, a fan-favorite character from Archie. Once known as ‘Big Ethel,’ the character sounds somewhat similar to Stranger Things’ Barb. Ethel is known as a homely, shy teenager who harbors a massive crush on Jughead Jones, Archie’s ex-best friend. While the character has mellowed over the years, Ethel still stands as one of the comic’s most down-home and relatable characters.
