Dust shadow on back is only issue on book. What is the highest grade cgc will give for a comic with dust shadow? Thanks!

9.0. I have an asm 20 with a nearly identical shadow graded as 9.0

The best grade it gan get with "minor foxing" is : 8.0

 

The best grade it can get with "very minor foxing" is: 9.0

 

The best grade it can get with "slight foxing" is : 9.4

 

 

Should be between "minor foxing" and "very minor foxing" . In my opinion a "very minor" portion of the cover has the foxing so it shoild be a 9.0

A dust shadow is not foxing - I don't see any foxing on the book.

 

Foxing relates to mold growth not shadowing related to light exposure.

 

Book looks like a 9.2 to me, scan would be better for a more accurate grade.

Foxing relates to the browning of old paper .

Foxing is a condition specifically related to mold growth - this is browning related to light and it is not foxing.

 

Foxing is not a universal term for browning of paper.

It doesn't matter how you call it : dust shadow or foxing(thats how Overstreet call this defect) the paper is brown

Again, foxing and a dust shadow are two completely different things and it matters.

I agree with you.. one is because of the sun light and the other maybe because of a fungus... but the two them create a defect wich is the browning of paper.
