I believe in honesty so here it comes from the horses mouth so to speak:

 

Its our second year running this event, we started the event on Easter Weekend in 2015 - now I have run The Great Allentown Comic Con! for almost 6 years now, but we outgrew our space in 2014 and during our search for a new venue found this location in Oaks..which is the same that Walker Stalker Philly used if that helps you.

 

We decided to do the show in December 2014, and we put it all together in around 3 months. While some may not be impressed, I was rather happy with the turnout as we had around 5,000 for that Easter weekend. So far, we are selling about 3x as many tickets as we did last year as of this date, and we have not really started the big marketing push.

 

While I don't put alot of faith in Facebook, there is an interesting numbers I can point to to show a difference vs last year -

 

Our Event group that we created last year had by the end 990 people who state they were going to attend it, 350 or so who were interested (which means they saw updates as they were posted) and had reached around 31K in total (this is all the people who saw it in their newsfeed) and 2.9K clicking into and viewing the posts in the group itself.

 

Compare that to the current event group which already has 971 people stating they will attend, 4.7k who are interested, and we have so far reached 356K, with 12K actually visiting the event group so far.

 

I know a number of comic book dealers who did very very well last year and are coming back, and we have picked up a couple new ones as well - do i wish we had more - yes of course But as a former dealer myself i know that most do not want to "take a chance" on a "new" show.
