How much do you spend on Frenchies?

Extrapolate .....

Took over a year of research to find a reputable breeder

I have two, spent 2k on each from the breeder, then there are the shots and checkups, generally first visit is about $100 then next 2 visits about $50. Bosley, our first one, we basically "rescued" from a stoner who lived in a filthy house. He had a internal and external bacterial infection, took a good $500 in meds to clear that up. Then it turned out he has slight allergies, so we feed him hypoallergenic food, which doesn't come to much more than regular food, but still more. Then comes the neutering at six months which is about $400. Mortimer we just picked up in February, just finished his round of shots, next visit is his surgery and then a yearly. Luckily we have had no issues with him.

Luckily both are extremely healthy and happy dogs and we couldn't be happier. There is just the regular expense of treats and toys and basically babying them lol

All worth it :cloud9:

There are a LOT of unethical breeders out there who have done nothing but destroy the bloodlines of this fine canine by breeding recessive genes to make popular colours. Breeders are asking upwards of 3k-5k a dog for popular colours such as "blue" and "cinnamon". These breeding techniques cause no end of havok on the genetic stock.

The reason they are so expensive is that the Frenchie cannot reproduce on it's own. Most if not all have to be artifically inseminated and have to give birth through c-section.

Thank goodness my wife works for a vet lol we have two long hair dachshunds and two cats

NOT just a dog, that there is a purebred French Bulldog my friend.

I was going for Frenchies and hot chicks, but I suppose calling Lady Gaga hot is relative.

Couldn't you just go for hot French chicks & resolve half your problem? (shrug)

Is there an "other" option?

I find that I spend way too much money on Magic the Gathering. So much so that it's what actually has been pulling me back into comics again :roflmao:

The MTG trading card market can be so volatile at times. One minute you're putting together a deck and finding the pieces at reasonable prices, and then they spike out of nowhere.

For perspective, a card printed just last year is up to $75 on average. You need 4 copies for your deck, that's $300 for a playset of a card that will rotate out of standard magic later this year.

Another example is a card I just bought a playset of last year because I liked it for kitchen table magic. I bought my playset for $10, the card was just unbanned for modern and has spiked to around $60 a card. It's ridiculous.

Comics are a more steady market. Sure, you have new comics get hot or pick up steam, but it feels more gradual than the spikiness of the magic card market.

It's funny, I never even heard of magic cards until I met a guy to buy his comics...ends up it's his true addiction. He said the cards paid for the foundation on his house. I was shocked (even if partially true)...now he reaches out to me to buy these magic cards at a pace I almost can't keep up with - it seems my wife gets the discount at Hasbro. I wish Hasbro sold comics . He joked that Hasbro should start a grading company for toys and comics since they have their hand in everything ...hmmmm

I find videogames much more immersive, cathartic, time-consuming and potentially addictive than comicbooks. And considerably better value for money.

id be curious with a more realistic poll. i dig art, rolex watches, funny books more and more particularly ga, pre 1990 sports cards to a minor extent but definitely enjoy some of them, looking to pick up a vintage manaco grand prix poster nice ones are tough, the list goes on...

i dont do strip clubs or casinos, when i am in vegas i dont even notice the tables its kinda funny. but i love seeking out and acquiring things that i think are really high end and cool.

Comics and Lego....

And to be honest...

If I ever had to make a Sophie's Choice

I'm keeping the Lego

Same here, BTW my daughter's name is Sophia! Kids come first, but sometimes what they want I can also play with - that's why it's Legos for me if it came down to it.
