Getting a Book Re-Holdered

Hey, everyone,

 

An Outcast #1 9.8 sketch variant was sent to me, and when I opened the package, I noticed the case was cracked. The shipping box didn't seem to be damaged, so I'm not sure how it happened. I've never sent in a book to be re-holdered, but I know they can possibly drop in grade if CGC feels the need. I have included a picture of the case, so I'm wondering if it's worth it to send it back in (and possibly receive a partial refund to cover the cost) or send it back for a full refund if there's a chance of the grade dropping. The comic doesn't seemed damaged. Thank you for the feedback.

Unless it is hard to find, return it. Too many hassles, risks, and time to do the reholder yourself.

There are 63 of the sketch 9.8s, but they're all more than double what I got this one for. That's the only thing that's stopping me from getting a full refund because I know I wouldn't be able to replace it for the same amount.

I didn't think they actually regraded the books that are getting reholdered unless the inner well was clearly damaged.

If the book doesn't look damaged it will likely be a straight reholder, I've sent in cases that were much worse than that for reholder.

The seller gave me a $40 partial refund to cover the cost of sending it in for reholder.

So I've been filling out the form for Re-Holder, but the bottom of each page reads "Submitter Retains Green Copy." None of the pages are green :shrug: . What does that mean? There are six pages total, including the shipping info page.

Send in four of the five pages - no need to include the shipping info page. The first page of course must be signed, the others don't need to. Keep one of the others for your records.
