By no means a HG BUT - this cover was used for three books: a real pre-code horror (this is one - see second scan for first story), Boys Ranch or Black Cat (pre-Black Cat Horror).

 

Feel lucky to have gotten a pre-code horror issue - and it IS purple! grin.gif

 

Oh yeah - some early - 1953 - Ditko in the story Hair Yee-Eee (scan below as well)
