Those are great! I remember buying all of them off the stands, and reading them to pieces...

Yeah, me too. Not all of them but three or four. I think I still have them somewhere. Great stuff

There was a Losers Special timed to the Crisis on Infinite Earths series. In Crisis, the Losers were shown gobbled up by one of those anti-matter thingies. I always hoped the story in the Special sent them out in a more traditional (less sci-fi) manner. But I never read it...

Frankly, I hate that Crisis tie-in thing with the Losers. I don't really buy it.

After Our Fighting Forces was cancelled, there were some appearances of the individual Losers as backups in G.I. Combat and Unknown Soldier, and I do believe there was at least one full-on Losers story as backup in the Unknown Soldier towards the end of that title.

To me, though, the Losers really ended with the last Kirby Issue of Our Fighting Forces. The Evans-drawn issues after that were uniformly lousy.

Hello lads,

I am currently on the hunt for a nice 9.0 or better copy (raw or slabbed) of Our Army at War #237. I have some cash, and good stuff to trade if anyone has a line on one.

Thanks!

Shep

Hey everyone,

This list is dead! In an attempt to liven it up, I've compiled a list of the appearances of DC war characters in titles outside the big five and little five war books. Many of these are bronze age appearances, so I'm posting it here. Also, I've taken the list up to 2001, just before DC launched it's reprint assault with the Archives.

Anyway, enjoy. If I have missed anything or made mistakes, please post them.

Super list Shep!

Damn! I've got a good number of those, but now I've gotta pick up a whole lot more that I wasn't planning on. Here's my list for Brave and the Bold alone:

#52 3 Battle Stars

#84 Sgt. Rock

#96 Sgt. Rock

#108 Sgt. Rock

#117 Sgt. Rock

#124 Sgt. Rock

#146 Unknown Soldier

#162 Sgt. Rock

Special Edition (1978) Sgt. Rock

There are a few in that above list to add to your master list.

Well done, and keep up the good work!

This title was primarily horror-based (later renamed to just Ripley's Believe it or Not with #4), in the vein of "Ghosts" type story telling in different time periods (which actually added to the realism). GK experimented on a few issues with war-based story only issues (#5 is the only other one that comes to mind), and here's one that rarely shows up in HG:

Sorry, technically Silver Age: Although this is listed as #1, it counted as #3 in the Ripley series.
