SD Con 2016 Gathering

RareHighGrade once again played the gracious host to a pack of itinerant comic aficionados at his annual Mini-Con.

 

This was the 11th event and I was impressed, as always, by the fabulous comics that people shared but also by the variety as almost all of these covers had not been presented at any prior gathering. Comic collecting is a great little hobby, made better by the camaraderie and conversation of events like this.

The group gathers in the backyard while awaiting for the intrepid pizza hunters to return with the kill.

Having feasted on the freshly killed pizzas, the party moves indoors for the comics.

 

In a striking departure from convention, our host is the first to share a couple jewels. The Radio Funnies Ashcan is the only known copy and next to it is the Church copy of the issue that was the basis for the cover.
