'PLANET COMICS' (is deserving of its own thread)

Wowee, are we at the end already? I went back and we started this all the way back at the beginning of February on page 227. Pretty much a new Planet every day or so since then from everyone. Very enjoyable seeing what everyone has!

While we are at the end of the run, for some reason we started this great Planet Comics reveal at issue 2.

And so fellow boardies, lets see those #1's!

I bought my #1 from Metropolis as a raw book ( before I learned of their nature regarding raws ).

It presents beautifully but it is restored. I purchased the book as a raw 6.5.

I had my friend John's restored Planet Comics 1 cgc 6.0 in my hand and had the choice to purchase it. Instead I chose to keep my book as it presented so nicely, and at the time I believed my copy was a 6.5. I finally submitted it to be graded and when I got it back from grading it is a 4.5. My friend's Planet 1 went to a fellow Planet collector and I am sure it will be shown in a following post.

I still like my book, one of the nicest 4.5's you will see.

Yes, we did skip #1, so I’m glad we are going back to where it all started to end this daily progression through the run!

Thank you Karl for connecting me with John to purchase this book. It remains one of the prize jewels of my collection!

Totally agree. And nothing wrong with Restored books (at least when you know you are getting one). Jon Berk didn't think so, either. Happy to own one of his and one of my absolute favorites in my Planet collection. Lou Fine hitting it out of the park as usual.

I was very fortunate to finish my run and had help from a number of folks here on some tough issues including Karl, Jared, and Rick. Thanks!

I’ve had several #1’s, including one really great one that a boardie friend still has. This is my current lowly but acceptable copy. A pretty nice presenting 2.0 Universal now.

Also, while I am at it, I should give Susan Cicconi some kudos. This is what it looked like before she did a very painstaking press and dry clean.

It really brought the colors out and the spine correction greatly improved the presentation.

I picked this up from Jason when he was selling off his rivets. I absolutely love this book. Not sure why Planet 1 doesn't get more love, as it's an all-time classic IMHO.

OK, so I didn't know how to post pictures when you guys first started running through the Planet list. Here is my Planet 2. This is another of my favorite books. It was also the first high grade Planet that I purchased and cemented my decision to try to collect the entire run. Only that pesky 15 remains.
