felixthecat
I found information supporting that online..... The 2nd printing has no copyright info on the back cover, but the 3rd printing has copyright info on the back cover inside a purple-colored circle. The 4th printing has copyright info on the back cover, but it is now outside of the circle. The information on printing for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions are still sketchy and there may be another printing that is currently unknown. _
Brother J
much nicer than my copy! I own the copy that is pictured on the ugcomix.info web site used to identify what a first printing looks like. I know it's mine because the bug chew marks match! http://www.ugcomix.info/guide/tells/0722tell.jpg
oldmilwaukee6er
Hey I am sharing one because I want to see Felix's thread keep going. So far he has shared three beautiful Air Pirates books... #1 ... a classic underground cover (an homage to the Big Little Book Mickey Mouse the Mail Pilot) #2 (perhaps the toughest in grade) #3 The Tortoise & the Hare #nn (commonly known as Air Pirates #3, but they couldn't really use the name) Then this tabloid is considered Air Pirates #4 AP Vol 1 #1 tabloid, created during the trial Edited August 10, 2016 by oldmilwaukee6er

felixthecat
Yesterday I picked up a full run of Omaha the Cat Dancer(missing #2) I am really enjoying reading these
Brother J
Looks like you're missing more than just #2, there should be twenty four issues in total, the 20 issues from Steeldragon/Kitchen Sink and the four Vol. 2 issues from Fantagraphics. Here's a list of just about everything Omaha: http://www.omahathecatdancer.com/omaha_history.htm

Brother J
goes to show how much I pay attention, I never realized the character on the back was supposed to be a Johnson.
AJD
2nd printing Love it. It's a tribute to this. 1950's war comics
oldmilwaukee6er
Love it. It's a tribute to this. Excellent observation! There could be a whole subset of underground comix dedicated to Rand Holmes' Wally Wood homages, e.g. Harold Hedd #2, Slow Death #5-6, Fog City Comics #2-3, or Death Rattle (Vol. 2) #4. Let alone u-comix EC pastiche. We underground collector's call Rand the pothead's Wally Wood!
felixthecat
Good stuff. Rand Holmes is one of my favorite artists. Here is my copy of Harold Hedd #
AJD
Great book! But the cover reminds me more of Jack Davis than Wally Wood... 1950's war comics

Brother J
Nice Harold Hedd, hard to get #1 in high grade because of the size. Most of the copies that I've seen were folded at some point.
