2016 Green Eggs Grading Contest- Round 9

I had both as 8.5 So much for my upward trend

I called 8.0 and 7.0, and was intentionally overgrading them both.

 

How did the 13 get away with that water stain and tanning on the top edge as a 7.5?

I bumped my grades up one grade each, based on prior round results.

 

I thought they were 7.0 and 7.5, and then bumped them to 8.0 and 8.5.

I graded them accurately and CGC went higher...

7.5 and 7.0....sometimes I have my mojo and other times I *spoon* the bed. It's the story of my life but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I initially had the ASM 3 as a 7.5 but made the mistake (apparently) of comparing it to this book on eBay;

which I felt was inferior to the one up for grading and I pondered whether or not I should make my guess 8.5 based on that book. I settled on 8.0 to split the difference. This might be one case where the old label goodness did not apply.
